Amanda Seyfried Exclusive: My Name's Not 'Siegfried'

Nobody likes hearing their name mispronounced, whether they're your friend or coworker - or a famous Hollywood celebrity. Amanda Seyfried is no exception. She constantly struggles with teaching people to say her last name correctly. After sitting down to chat about her upcoming films Gone and Lovelace, the actress opened up to our correspondent Thomas Leupp about the most common mispronunciations of her name.

The star said that her name is most commonly pronounced "Sayfried or Siegfried," which is very reminiscent of the famous lion tamers, Siegfried and Roy. It's not exactly the way she wants to be associated, but according to her, it's a problem even among family members. Seyfried admitted, "My sister says it differently than I do though, which is weird," making it sound like "Sighfreed" instead of "Sighfred."

And while that's sure to get annoying at times, it seems like a small price to pay for all her box office success. She's even preparing to show off her singing chops for the second time since Mama Mia in Les Miserables. If her career stays this course, people will be saying her name properly in no time.

Amanda Seyfried: Nudity is Nothing to Me

his is the same Amanda Seyfried who first gained noticed in the Tina Fey-penned film “Mean Girls,” and then shot to stardom as the young bride in “Mamma Mia!” When you’re in a movie that makes $600 million, many romantic roles will follow, and Seyfried appeared in several, including “Dear John” and “Letters to Juliet.”

But she wants a more diverse career, and “Lovelace” is obviously a step in that direction. But so is “Gone,” in which she plays a woman stalking a serial killer who has abducted her sister. She believes it is the same predator who abducted her the year before, but police doubt her original claim, and are slow to act on her sister’s disappearance.

Seyfried talks about her upcoming movies, and how they fit into her career plan. Then she unexpectedly unburdened herself on the burdens of stardom. She is getting to the point in her skyrocketing career that she is expected to sell movies on her name alone, and she’s not sure she wants that responsibility.

ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER: The last time we spoke, you were very candid about your career. You said what you needed after all those romantic roles was a good psycho killer movie. Is this it?

AMANDA SEYFRIED: Actually, I wanted to play a psycho killer, and I still do.

Q. Even though you’re only chasing a psycho killer in “Gone,” is this the movie you were looking for to send your career in another direction?
A. I don’t think so. It’s still hard for people in Hollywood to buy me as a psycho killer. “Chloe” hit it closer than anything else I’ve done, but I’m still not there. “Gone” is good, though, because while I start out as a victim, I get stronger and show that you can do anything you put your mind to. That’s what I love about this film. There’s nothing too far-fetched about it. She’s not flying off bridges or anything like that. It’s based in reality. It’s a normal girl in extraordinary situations.
Q. Are you tough like your character?
A. I’m tough on people when I’m not getting what I need emotionally, or when I feel like I’m being treated badly.
Q. Do you stand up for yourself?
A. Oh yeah. But, physically, I’m not that tough. If I were in that situation, I probably couldn’t stick my fingers in his eyes. I’d probably just kick him in the shin.
Q. Nobody’s expecting a Hollywood actress to be a Navy SEAL.
A. Everybody should be able to defend themselves, but we’re all too busy in our lives following our passions to learn how to take care of ourselves.

Amanda Seyfried is Nude in Restricted "Chloe" Trailer

Sony Pictures Classic has unveiled a restricted international trailer for the upcoming "Chloe" thriller, starring Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Jennifer's Body). Check out the trailer and all of its nudity below.

The new movie centers on a married woman (Moore) who hires a prostitute (Seyfried) to find out whether her husband (Neeson) is cheating on her. The prostitute, however, cons her about the nature of her husband's fidelity, a move that puts the family in jeopardy.

"Chloe" is directed by Atom Egoyan (Adoration, Where the Truth Lies) and is scheduled to appear in theaters on March 19th.

Kate Upton Dougie Viral

Kate Upton didn't even seem completely aware that "Teach Me How to Dougie" was a song about anyone in particular. When Jimmy Kimmel asked her on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Weeknights, 12 a.m. EST on ABC) if she'd ever had the chance to meet Doug E. Fresh, she corrected him by reminding him that the song was by Cali Swag District.

"Doug E. Fresh is the Dougie they're talking about, right?" Kimmel asked, uncertain. He then pulled previous guest Eric Stonestreet into the conversation, but he admitted he didn't even know what "Dougieing" was.

"I don't know how to Dougie," Stonestreet admitted. "I'm open to learning how to Dougie, though." Unfortunately for the viewers, they didn't get to witness Upton teaching Stonestreet how to Dougie. Video of that would likely have gone viral as fast her the video of her doing the Dougie at a Clippers game.

When Stonestreet backed out, saying that he and Kimmel were in their 40s, Kimmel balked. "Speak for yourself," he said. "I'm 19." At 19 years old, Upton isn't even half their ages.

"Do you like older men?" Kimmel then asked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model. "I'm 20." The difference between 20 and Kimmel's real age is still more years than Upton's been alive.

Florian on the key to Edgar’s game: “He’s fast. He can get four punches off in less than two seconds. His footwork and his speed make him very dangerous.”

Ghost Rider 2 Official Trailer

Well, after a long wait the Ghost Rider 2 Trailer is officially released and it is nothing less than what has been anticipated. It is packed with multiple times the adrenaline and Insanity. The trailer starts with a calming/soothing music and slowly revs up to the match the extreme insanity on the screen.

Though the directors have been claiming that they have not used much CG in the movie, the sequel looks to be far darker and action filled than the original movie. The  trailer doesn’t show Mephistopheles or Roxane but does show the new characters that we were expecting to see. One being Idris Elba as Moreau and the other being Violante Placido who plays the role of Nadya. The trailer has Less of Nicolas Cage and more of Johnny Blaze a.k.a the Ghost Rider all over it. The movie might not have a major role for the lead actress as it could be seen from the trailer that Ghost Rider is busy fighting the goons and Nadya appears with a one liner that she is not afraid of Ghost Rider.

Though the scenes where Idris Elba shoots a car flying from a bridge and where the Ghost Rider pulls a car with his blazing chain, the scenes that take us to the edge of the seat are where Nicolas Cage swallows the bullets and spits them back and where he literally pees fire. Though the peeing fire scene might not be in the actual movie it has definitely added up to the Insanity quotient of the Movie and have made the fans excited and leaves them waiting for the release of the movie which is planned for February 2011. Kevin Costner & Wife Christine Are Expecting First Baby!

Waterworld director Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine, are expecting their own little dipper. Congratulations!

"He and his wife Christine are very happy and very excited about it," publicist Paul Bloch told PEOPLE.

Costner, 52, and handbag designer Christine Baumgartner, 32, wed at his ranch near Aspen, Col., in September 2004.

The couple met while golfing more than a decade ago, but didn't begin dating until they met again at a restaurant in 1998. Despite a brief split in 2002 and an almost 20-year age difference, the two are "like little kids together, really in love," close friend David Giammarco told PEOPLE at the time of their wedding.
